DISPARITY IN THE APPLICATION OF THE LAW

No disparity: abortions are performed in gynaecological hospital departments; there is a sufficient network, therefore the services are easily accessible. Only one Catholic hospital does not allow abortion, causing major media debates

COMMENTS

The Ministry of Finance regulates the cost of abortion in the Czech Republic. Competition among hospitals often leads to actual prices being lower than those set by the Ministry of Finance. There are no further fees or payments to be made. To date it has not been possible to have the cost of abortion covered, even partially, by the insurance companies
