IPPF, DFPA and Danida cordially invite you to the

International Forum:
Advancing Comprehensive Sexuality Education in Developing Countries
10-11 June 2013

Until recently, sexuality education has been predominantly viewed through a public health lens, grounded largely in HIV prevention objectives. As a result, health indicators are used to measure educational success. While HIV prevention, treatment and care remain important health related objectives, the assessment of sexuality education programmes lacks a focus on other important outcomes including: educational outcomes, gender equity, social justice, increased critical thinking skills, decreased discrimination and stigma, as well as broader sexual and reproductive health outcomes. Evidence demonstrates that gender and rights have a significant impact on young people’s development, health and well-being.
In order to improve the implementation and quality of CSE in developing countries, greater commitment is required on a political and technical level, as well as strengthened multi-stakeholder collaboration and scaling-up of best practices. IPPF is therefore in collaboration with DFPA hosting a forum on taking CSE to the next level in developing countries. The forum will take place 10 and 11 June 2013 and will discuss key points coming out of a technical work shop with in put from researchers, UN institutions, practitioners, and civil society.
